Say the word “newsletter”, and most salon owners start panicking a little…how on earth are you supposed to find and write enough content for a monthly newsletter on top of everything else you’re doing?
It boils down to 2 easy rules:
- Just write. Write honestly and from the heart. Everybody LOVES getting a letter, email or postcard from a friend, and your newsletter should be the same!
- Consistency! Don’t do it 4 times a year, when you feel like it! Once a month, every month, no exceptions.
Remember to:
- Use spell check! It’s there for a reason. It takes one little typing error to say “kind retards” instead of “kind regards” at the end of your letter…but it makes a big difference in meaning!
- Get someone to proofread it. Computers don’t always pick up everything, so don’t be shy to check, double check and triple check.
- Most of all, have fun with it! This is your one marketing opportunity where it’s more about making and keeping contact than it is about selling. The irony is that your sales figures will climb just through having informed, loyal customers.
We’ve made our templates 2 pages. It is advisable to start on two pages, then move to 4 pages when you are more experienced in writing and generating newsletters. It can be overwhelming and difficult to fill all 4 pages when you first start!
With our templates, simply replace the words and images with your own. 😊
